Kandla Deendayal Port achieves milestone of handling 150 million tonnes in 2024-25

Kandla Deendayal Port Authority (KDPA) has achieved its goal of handling 150 million tonnes of cargo in the financial year 2024-25, as confirmed by Chairperson Sushil Kumar Singh. This accomplishment was driven by collaborative engagement with port users and stakeholders.  

Singh emphasized that a key factor in this success was inviting port users to provide suggestions and inputs for improving productivity and efficiency of operations. The port authority implemented changes based on feedback from trade exporters, importers, shipping agents, customs agents, and other stakeholders involved in cargo handling.  

The Port Authority revised and streamlined its procedures based on the collective input, implementing changes swiftly to address operational bottlenecks. Singh stated that they modified and amended procedures to the extent possible and did so very quickly.
