Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met Malaysian counterpart T. Zafrul Abdul Aziz in New Delhi and said India is eager to “fast‑track” the long‑pending review of the 2009 ASEAN–India Trade in Goods Agreement. Industry has pressed for updated rules‑of‑origin and other fixes to address trade imbalances. Goyal told X (formerly Twitter) that discussions will also advance a bilateral Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement with Malaysia, aiming for “fair trade and balanced growth” across the region.
