India is setting the stage for a long-term economic transformation by aligning its domestic manufacturing with global demand. Under the ambitious ‘Maritime Vision 2047,’ the government is prioritizing the domestic production of containers and expanding ship recycling capabilities to reduce dependency on foreign entities. A key focus remains the revitalization of the textile and apparel sector, where India is aggressively utilizing its network of 37 Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to reclaim global market share. By streamlining quality certifications and offering performance-linked incentives, the policy aims to make Indian exports more competitive against global rivals. This holistic approach, combining infrastructure modernization with favourable trade policies, is designed to cement India’s position as a premier global sourcing and logistics hub for the next decade.
