Telangana is embarking on a multi-pronged strategy to boost rice exports following a record procurement of 72 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has directed officials to draft a new policy that promotes rice varieties with high demand in international markets. The state plans to organize high-level meets with global importers and represent itself in every major overseas forum dedicated to rice trade. This initiative also focuses on crop diversion policies to ensure farmers achieve better pricing for their produce. By collaborating with agricultural scientists, the government aims to transform Telangana into a key hub for sustainable and premium rice exports.
