In a major push for foreign investment, the Uttar Pradesh government is acquiring 1,000 acres in Greater Noida to develop dedicated industrial enclaves for companies from Singapore and Japan. These zones—named ‘Singapore City’ and ‘Japan City’—aim to support the state’s ambition of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2030. Simultaneously, the Rajasthan government has overhauled its approval process for MSMEs and the One District, One Product (ODOP) policy to improve ease of doing business. By shifting to a completely online system, the state has seen a sharp rise in applications for industrial and export-related approvals.
