Export Gridlock: 1,250 Fruit Containers Stranded at Nhava Sheva Amid Gulf Crisis

Published

The ongoing conflict in West Asia has led to a major logistics crisis at Nhava Sheva port, where over 1,250 sea containers packed with fresh fruits like bananas, grapes, and pomegranates are currently stranded. With shipping services disrupted by the Iran war, these reefer containers remain plugged in at the terminal to prevent spoilage, but the delay is threatening the shelf life of the product. This blockage is particularly critical as it coincides with the peak Ramadan season, during which demand for Indian fruits in West Asian markets is at its highest. Exporters are fearfully awaiting a resolution to avoid massive financial losses.
