In a major boost to India’s “Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047,” Andhra Pradesh is set to host a world-class maritime innovation and advanced shipbuilding centre in the SPSR Nellore district. The ground-breaking ceremony, scheduled for March 12 at Juvvaladinne, marks a strategic move to position the state as a hub for maritime technology. The centre will focus on training skilled workers, naval architects, and technicians while boosting ancillary industries and logistics services. This project is expected to significantly reduce India’s dependence on foreign ship components and attract global maritime investments to the region.
