Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has secured a landmark 10-year marine services contract for Argentina’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) export project through its step-down unit, Adani Harbour International FZCO. Partnering in a 51:49 joint venture with Argentina’s Meridian Group, the consortium will deploy high-specification tugboats and supply vessels to provide end-to-end maritime logistics for Southern Energy SA’s floating LNG terminal in the San Matias Gulf. The project is slated to commence commercial operations in September 2027, producing 2.45 million tonnes of LNG annually, with subsequent supply channels scaled to export up to 10 million tonnes per year back to India. Concurrently, the Solvent Extractors’ Association of India (SEA) has welcomed the government’s revised standard operating procedure for edible oil packaging, which mandates standard pack sizes and dual volume-to-weight labelling to enhance supply chain transparency.
