In a historic diplomatic move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico officially upgraded bilateral ties to a “comprehensive partnership” during talks in Bratislava. Marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since the 1993 dissolution of Czechoslovakia, the two nations signed 14 bilateral agreements. Strategic convergence was achieved across advanced manufacturing ecosystems, covering the automotive, electronics, and railway freight wagon sectors. Furthermore, both leaders pushed for the rapid execution of the finalized India-EU trade deal. They agreed to forge immediate collaborations in defense production, civil nuclear energy, space technology, and emerging telecommunications networks like 5G and 6G.
