Trade Agreements, Agricultural Exports and Maritime Investments Drive Growth Outlook

Published

India’s export landscape continues to evolve through a combination of trade agreements, stronger agricultural exports, and investments in maritime infrastructure. Rice exports increased during the first half of 2026, supported by higher shipments of non-basmati rice despite temporary disruptions in Gulf markets. The government also reiterated that ongoing and future Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) will continue to protect farmers’ interests while creating new export opportunities for Indian businesses. Complementing these efforts, Goa has announced plans to attract investment in ports, inland waterways, logistics infrastructure, coastal tourism, ship repair, and shipbuilding, reflecting a broader push to strengthen India’s maritime ecosystem and enhance long-term trade connectivity.
