The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) is overhauling compliance norms for public and private bonded warehouses, introducing mandatory digital trails for goods movement, a strict 24-hour discrepancy reporting rule, and five-year electronic record maintenance. In the maritime shipping industry, Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) is projected to deliver a net profit of over ₹2,000 crore this fiscal year after recording ₹600 crore PAT in Q1. Ports and Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced SCI’s plans to expand its fleet by procuring 34 vessels through petroleum sector JVs and adding 51 container ships in partnership with CONCOR and major ports.
