Andhra Pradesh is restructuring its economic landscape through specialized industrial corridors and regional growth nodes. Since June 2024, the state has allotted 26,966 acres to nearly 2,953 industrial units, establishing specific focus hubs: green hydrogen and IT in Visakhapatnam, finance and quantum computing in Amaravati, space technology in Tirupati, and defense manufacturing in Kurnool. Major project commitments include ReNew’s ₹82,000-crore investment across green ammonia and solar wafer manufacturing, alongside a ₹15,800-crore aircraft integration center. At the national level, the Centre is preparing financial incentives and policy support to help chemical exporters diversify away from over-reliance on the US market, which currently absorbs 18% of India’s chemical exports. NITI Aayog has targeted expanding chemical exports to $81 billion by 2030 by shifting focus toward specialty and high-value green chemicals. Simultaneously, the policy aims to address import vulnerabilities, as China accounted for 41.8% of India’s organic chemical imports in early 2026.
