India’s coffee exports rose by 48% in value terms to $202.95 million in April 2025, even though volumes declined by 11% to 35,259 tonnes. This growth is largely driven by high international prices. Arabica coffee shipments saw growth while robusta exports fell.
Between January 1 and May 15, 2025, India exported 1.54 lakh tonnes of coffee—down 13% year-on-year. Shipments of robusta cherry and parchment declined, while arabica cherry and parchment saw increases. Instant coffee shipments also dropped slightly.
Ramesh Rajah, President of the Coffee Exporters Association, attributed the rise in value to price hikes, especially for arabica, while robusta remained too costly for buyers. India exported 3.89 lakh tonnes of coffee worth a record $1.82 billion in FY25.
