CMA CGM Completes $1.4 Billion Acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain to Expand Contract Logistics Footprint

Published

French logistics and shipping titan CMA CGM has officially finalized its $1.4 billion acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain, folding nearly 10,000 skilled employees and 34 million square feet of prime warehousing capacity directly into its logistics subsidiary, CEVA Logistics. The strategic transaction nearly triples CEVA Logistics’ contract logistics footprint across North America, scaling its regional operating network to more than 240 strategic locations and expanding its regional workforce to approximately 20,000 personnel. Alongside the asset transfer, CMA CGM and FedEx have established multi-year commercial agreements spanning air and ocean freight, under which CMA CGM serves as a preferred ocean carrier for FedEx while both entities collaborate on key international air freight corridors. This landmark deal significantly reinforces CMA CGM’s end-to-end supply chain integration strategy, cementing its position as a dominant contract logistics and multimodal freight operator across the North American market.
