The 62nd National Maritime Day featured a cultural program centered on the theme “SAMRIDDH SAGAR – VIKSIT BHARAT: YEVAM NEEL ARTH AUR HARIT VIKAS KE LIYE YUVA” (Prosperous Seas – Developed India & Youth for Blue Economy & Green Growth). The performances highlighted that seafarers are not only navigators but also artists, storytellers, and musicians.
A skit inspired by Dr. Gunter Pauli, known as the ‘Father of the Blue Economy’, was performed by Indian Maritime University cadets, emphasizing the need for a sustainable future for oceans and the maritime industry. The GEIMS Rockers band showcased their musical talent, and Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies presented a performance blending movement and maritime energy.
The Anglo Eastern Academy, Karjat, delivered a performance embodying patriotism and maritime pride, and Maritime Training Institute, SCI cadets, presented a ‘Nukkad Natak’ (street play) focused on environmental consciousness.
