The maritime sector is embracing a digital revolution with the implementation of ‘Digital Twin’ projects and AI-driven maintenance systems across major Indian ports. These technologies provide a real-time virtual replica of port assets, allowing for predictive maintenance and optimized berth allocation. Additionally, the government has intensified maritime security protocols following recent threats in the Persian Gulf, activating a Quick Response Team for seafarer safety. By combining high-tech surveillance with automated logistics management, the ministry aims to create a “Smart Port” ecosystem that can withstand both physical security risks and digital vulnerabilities.
