DP World has begun construction of Bharat Mart, a global marketplace designed to boost trade between Indian businesses and international markets. The announcement was made in the presence of H H Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry of India. Bharat Mart is scheduled to open by the end of 2026.
The facility will span 2.7 million square feet, with its initial phase covering 1.3 million square feet, and will serve as a key trading hub for Indian MSMEs. Strategically located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), Bharat Mart will feature 1,500 showrooms and over 700,000 square feet of warehousing, light industrial units, office spaces, and meeting facilities, including dedicated space for women-led businesses from India.
With its proximity to Jebel Ali Port, Al Maktoum International Airport, and Etihad Rail access, Bharat Mart will offer Indian businesses seamless access to a multimodal logistics network
