Dredging Corporation Eyes Overseas Markets

Published

The Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) is exploring business opportunities beyond Indian shores, particularly in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and other South Asian countries. This strategic shift was announced by DCI’s MD and CEO Durgesh Kumar Dubey during the Dredging Conclave 2025 held in New Delhi.

In addition to foreign markets, DCI is also focusing on growing domestic opportunities, especially as major Indian port players like AMNS India, JSW Group, and Adani Group expand their operations. These developments would require frequent maintenance dredging, an area where DCI specializes. Dredging involves removing sand and sediments to deepen and maintain navigable waterways.

Dubey noted that there is an acute shortage of dredging vessels across the Middle East and Southeast Asia, presenting an opportunity for DCI to extend its services and diversify its revenue streams. The company is positioning itself as a global player in port maintenance and infrastructure development amidst growing regional trade and maritime activity.
