Geopolitical tensions in the West Asia region continue to impact maritime trade, as Iran’s Persian Gulf Strait Authority issued strict warnings against violating Hormuz protocols, approving navigation fees and restrictions for non-compliant vessels. Meanwhile, India is focusing on domestic agricultural growth and global supply chain expansion. The Indian government officially lifted its long-standing export ban on wheat and derivative products like flour, maida, and semolina with immediate effect. Supported by a bumper harvest of 120.65 million tonnes in FY26 and 49 million tonnes in buffer stocks, the move aims to boost depressed domestic farm prices ahead of the rabi season.
