India has extended anti-dumping duties on seamless tubes, pipes, and hollow profiles from China until January 27, 2027, alongside a five-year duty continuation on Normal Butanol from Malaysia, South Africa, and the USA to safeguard domestic manufacturers from underpriced imports. Simultaneously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s summit talks with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon focused on the implementation of the newly signed Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The agreement includes a $20 billion investment commitment into India over 15 years, duty-free entry for Indian goods, and discussions to integrate India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) into New Zealand’s financial infrastructure. Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) published the Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) allocation procedure under the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). Entering into force on July 15, CETA allows up to 3.78 lakh conventional passenger vehicles from the UK at reduced tariffs over 15 years, while safeguarding mass-market electric vehicles priced below £40,000 to protect local Indian automakers.
