The Union Government has modified the legal definition of service exports under GST regulations, allowing IT and tech firms to claim zero-rating tax benefits regardless of the physical work location of their personnel within India. In regional maritime initiatives, Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane announced plans to replicate Andhra Pradesh’s cluster-based port-led development model to modernize coastal shipping along the Konkan belt. Additionally, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu formally requested the Central Government to transfer 20,378 acres of surplus salt-pan land in Kakinada and Visakhapatnam to build modern port facilities and industrial parks. Concurrently, Telangana presented a master plan to position the state as an inland logistics and heritage tourism hub to attract multi-crore private investments.
