Haveri district is leading Karnataka in exports, with products worth Rs 570 crore exported during the financial year 2024-25. This figure, which includes items like chilli powder and vegetables, puts the district at the forefront of the state’s export business. According to the Dharwad Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VTPC), Karnataka ranks fourth nationally in product exports.
While Karnataka is a national leader in IT and service exports, accounting for 40% of India’s total in this sector, district officials are urging a stronger focus on the MSME sector for future growth. The state has 1.3 million registered MSMEs, with 8,000 in Haveri district alone. The district’s abundant opportunities for these businesses are highlighted, and local officials are encouraging entrepreneurs to take advantage of government-backed schemes like ZED/LEAN to boost their business.
