India dairy exports rise 80%

Published

According to a report from The Economic Times, India’s dairy exports increased by 80% in FY25 to reach a value of $492.9 million. The country exported 1.13 lakh metric tons of dairy products, a significant jump from the previous year. Key products driving this growth include butter and ghee, which saw a 169% increase in volume.

The report notes that India is the world’s largest milk producer, with a 24% share of global production. This growth is attributed to strong demand from key export markets, including the UAE, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. The government and industry bodies are also working to address non-tariff barriers to further expand the country’s dairy export potential.
