India-US Trade Gets a Boost with New Shipping Service

Published

The APM Terminals at Mumbai’s Gateway Terminals India (GTI) recently welcomed the maiden call of a new shipping service by Ocean Network Express (ONE). This service, dubbed “WIN,” strengthens the trade connection between India’s West Coast and the East Coast of the United States.

The article highlights the significance of this development. It marks a pivotal moment for bolstering trade relations between the two regions and enhancing global connectivity at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Nhava Sheva. The first vessel, M.V. ONE MODERN, completed its operations efficiently at GTI, handling over 3,400 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) in just 19 hours.

The WIN service commences its journey from Karachi, Pakistan, before making stopovers at Hazira and Nhava Sheva in India. The vessels then exit India from Mundra and embark on a 28-day voyage to the US East Coast, calling at ports like New York, Savannah, Jacksonville, and Charleston. This new service is expected to play a crucial role in facilitating trade flows between India and the United States.
