India recorded its highest-ever exports of US$863.1 billion in FY2025–26, driven by strong growth in both merchandise exports (US$441.8 billion) and services exports (US$421.3 billion). The Ministry of Commerce attributed the milestone to the growing impact of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), which have expanded market access and strengthened India’s export competitiveness across global markets. Agreements with the UAE, Australia, the UK, Oman, Mauritius, and EFTA nations have diversified export destinations while boosting labour-intensive sectors such as textiles, leather, footwear, gems & jewellery, marine products, agriculture, and handicrafts. ASEAN remained India’s largest FTA export market, followed by the UAE and SAFTA countries. The government also highlighted increased utilisation of Certificates of Origin, digital trade facilitation platforms, and export monitoring initiatives, reinforcing India’s position as a fast-growing global trading hub and supporting long-term export growth.
