JNPT Container Operators Association Postpone Strike Following SOP Implementation

Published

The JNPT Container Operators Association has postponed their planned voluntary stoppage of work from August 20th to September 9th. This decision follows a meeting with JNPT Chairman Shri Unmesh Wagh, where a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) was agreed upon to address the challenges faced by operators at empty container yards.

The SOP includes the implementation of online payments for empty yard charges, effective September 1st. This will streamline the payment process and reduce inefficiencies. The Transport Association’s decision to defer the strike reflects their confidence in the SOP’s ability to resolve the issues and improve operations.

This positive development showcases the commitment of JNPT and its stakeholders to work together towards a more efficient and effective port environment. The SOP’s implementation and the subsequent evaluation will play a crucial role in determining future actions.
