Karnataka has comfortably retained its undisputed top ranking among Indian states by generating an astounding $173 billion (approximately ₹19.7 lakh crore) in software and services exports during the 2025-26 fiscal year. Consolidated economic data validated by the Reserve Bank of India highlights a robust 9.3% year-on-year growth rate for the state across its combined commercial portfolios. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced that Karnataka single-handedly commands a massive 41% share of India’s entire software export ecosystem, placing it leagues ahead of domestic rivals like Maharashtra (16%) and Tamil Nadu (12.5%). While the tech hub of Bengaluru continues to serve as the primary economic engine, the state’s non-tech sectors also posted phenomenal growth, with regional exports of iron ore and minerals seeing a substantial 61% spike, followed closely by heavy chemicals at 56%.
