Maruti Suzuki Drives Record Passenger Vehicle Exports Across Global Markets

In the automotive sector, Maruti Suzuki led India’s passenger vehicle (PV) export growth, accounting for over 50% of all PV exports in Q1 FY27. Industry-wide PV exports increased by 8.8% year-on-year to 1,80,302 units. Maruti Suzuki’s shipments jumped 19.2% to 70,560 units, raising its overall market share in total exports to a record 55.3% while shipping 18 models across nearly 120 countries. Major export destinations included South Africa, Chile, Angola, and Mexico, with models like the Fronx and Jimny driving global demand. Conversely, competing automakers including Hyundai, Nissan, Volkswagen, and Mahindra experienced declines in export volumes during the same period.
