Oil Refiners Plan to Trim Russian Crude

Published

Indian oil refiners, who are among the largest buyers of Russian crude, are planning to modestly reduce their purchases in the coming weeks. This move is seen as a concession to Washington ahead of the new U.S. tariffs. State-run and private processors, including Reliance Industries, are expected to purchase 1.4-1.6 million barrels per day for October loading, which is a decrease from the average of 1.8 million barrels per day in the first half of the year. The article suggests that these volumes could change if India reaches a trade deal with the U.S. that eases pressure related to Russia’s war with Ukraine.
