Peak Season Surcharge Alert: CMA CGM Announces Increase for India-Africa Routes

Attention Indian Exporters Shipping to Africa: French shipping giant CMA CGM has implemented new peak season surcharges (PSS) for cargo moving from India to Africa. These surcharges will be effective for shipments with a gate-in date on or after July 15th, 2024, and will remain in place until further notice.

The Surcharge Breakdown:

  • Origin Ports: Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Cochin, Mangalore, and Tuticorin
  • Destination Ports:
    • South Africa (Port Elizabeth): US$500 per 20′ container, US$300 per 40′ container (dry cargo)
    • Namibia, Angola, Congo, DRC, Gabon, Benin, Ghana, and Nigeria: US$500 per 20′ container, US$300 per 40′ container (dry cargo)
