The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has announced an extension of the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme to provide much-needed support to the export community. This move is intended to offset the various hidden taxes and levies that exporters incur during the manufacturing process, making Indian goods more price-competitive in the global market. Additionally, a new digital customs portal is being tested to reduce physical intervention and expedite the clearance of EXIM cargo. These regulatory measures are aimed at providing a stable policy environment, helping India stay on track to achieve its ambitious $1 trillion merchandise export target by 2030.
