To combat the increasing risks to global trade, the Indian government has established a high-level Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) for supply chain resilience. Led by the Commerce and Industry Ministry, the group includes members from the Ministries of External Affairs, Shipping, Petroleum, and Finance to ensure coordinated monitoring of the West Asia crisis. The IMG held its first consultation meeting to assess vulnerabilities in exports and “critical imports” required for domestic consumption. Minister Piyush Goyal reiterated the government’s commitment to offering procedural flexibility and engaging with insurance institutions to safeguard exporter interests.
