Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Seychelles President Patrick Herminie finalized nine comprehensive bilateral agreements in Victoria to deeply expand defense, energy, and digital collaborations. Under a specialized $175 million Indian financial package consisting of $125 million in rupee-denominated credit lines and $50 million in grants, India delivered key defensive assets including a fast patrol vessel, utility vehicles, and Laser Radial-class boats to the island nation. The bilateral agreements also integrated the deployment of India’s UPI digital payment framework, launched the export of affordable generic medicines under the Janaushadhi scheme, and initiated a new National Hospital project. Recognizing these extensive green energy and oceanic initiatives, President Herminie conferred the prestigious “Guardian of the Blue Horizon” distinction upon Prime Minister Modi.
