Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, addressed the Dubai-India Business Forum in Mumbai. The forum, organized by Dubai Chambers, was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. Shri Goyal emphasized the strong historical and economic ties between India and Dubai, noting the generational continuity between Mumbai and Dubai.
Shri Goyal recalled the centenary of Sheikh Saeed’s visit to India and acknowledged Dubai’s contributions to social welfare, including the establishment of the first hospital for Indian workers in Dubai. He also highlighted the special relationship between India and the UAE, built on trust and high-level visits between the leaders of both nations.
The Minister discussed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and its potential to boost non-oil trade. He encouraged collaboration in sectors like renewable energy, green hydrogen, and advanced manufacturing, envisioning India as a $30-35 trillion economy by 2047.
